Anti-bullying ambassadors have set to work providing further support to fellow students.
A group of year ten students at New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, have been trained as part of The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign.
The awards, established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, train young people to educate their peers on bullying.
Michelle Tappenden, pastoral co-ordinator, said: “It was lovely to see our students participate with other schools; sharing ideas, talking about their experiences and how they felt about becoming ambassadors.
“As an academy, we offer a variety of ways in which students can confide in someone.

"We hope by introducing anti-bullying ambassadors, we are able to reach the students who may not want to confide in a teacher or member of staff and are more comfortable talking to our ambassadors."
The six ambassadors have started their work by creating post boxes for students to post details of any concerns into which they will check every day.
Once students have carried out their role for 12 months, they will receive official badges and the school will be presented with The Diana Award.
