Police are at the scene of an incident in Braintree
An investigation has been launched after a man was allegedly attacked in Braintree High Street.
Police have cordoned off the front entrance of the former Flacks Inn in Courtaulds Mews following the incident.
Officers were called out to the area around 3.15pm following reports of an assault.
It is understood a man, aged in his 30s, had suffered head injuries.
Essex Police say officers were unable to locate the victim as he had left the scene by the time they arrived.
The force says enquiries are ongoing.
