British driver Lando Norris has been penalised three grid places for Sunday’s Styrian Grand Prix.

Norris was handed the punishment for overtaking Alpha Tauri’s Pierre Gasly under yellow flags during opening practice here in Spielberg.

The 20-year-old McLaren driver has also been hit with two penalty points on his licence for the infringement.

Last week, Norris became the youngest British driver to finish on a Formula One podium after taking third position at the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix.

He delivered the fastest lap of the race with his last circuit of the track to edge out Lewis Hamilton by just 0.2 seconds to third.

Hamilton finished second but was dealt a five-place grid penalty following a collision with Red Bull driver Alexander Albon.
