ENFIELD Town found the way to do what no-one else had managed so far this season - to beat Maldon & Tiptree as the Jammers bowed out of the FA Trophy.

After having won 23 games and drawn two since the start of the campaign, Maldon were finally halted as Enfield beat them 4-3 in a third qualifying round tie.

Enfield, who play a level above the Jammers in the BetVictor Isthmian League premier division, led twice against their visitors, but had to then come from behind and managed to snatch the victory thanks to a Billy Bricknell brace.

It was a perfect start from the hosts as Muhammadu Faal put them ahead in the first minute, but Danny Parish levelled things for Maldon on 20 minutes before a hectic spell just before the break.

In the 40th minute, Marc Weatherstone put Enfield back in front, but it wasn't to last until the break as just three minutes later, Parish fired the Jammers back level from the penalty spot.

And they continued on an upward trajectory after the break when Charlee Hughes struck to make it 3-2 to Maldon just before the hour mark as they looked for a 26th unbeaten game and a 24th victory.

However, Enfield and Bricknell had other ideas as the experienced forward grabbed two goals on 72 and 75 minutes to put the hosts back in front and finally end Maldon's fantastic run.
