Braintree Town played out a 1-1 draw with a youthful side Southend United last night, in their latest pre-season friendly.
Trialist striker Chib Chilaka gave Iron the lead early on at Cressing Road.
Ben Wright came close to making it 2-0 after that but Southend trialist Ryan Leonard equalised just before half-time.
Aswad Thomas almost grabbed a winner for Braintree late on when he saw his effort tipped away by goalkeeper Daniel Bentley, as the match finished all square.
Braintree's next pre-season friendly is on Saturday when they travel to play Histon.
