Rod Stringer hopes to give Braintree Town fans a treat this weekend – by masterminding a derby victory against rivals Chelmsford City.

The sides meet in a Blue Square South crunch match at Cressing Road tomorrow.

And while three points are the top priority, irrespective of the opposition, manager Stringer knows any kind of victory would be an enormous boost for the Iron faithful.

“Derby games add a bit more spice but we’re looking for three points, first and foremost, no matter who it’s against,” he told the Times.

“It’s more for the supporters and I’m sure they’d love us to beat Chelmsford.

“But they’ll want to win as much as we do and not let their supporters down."
