Braintree Town are hoping that they will be able to return to action on Saturday.
The Iron have not kicked a ball in anger since beating Bishop’s Stortford, on New Year’s Day.
It is nearly three weeks since they last played, following the postponement of their Blue Square South clash with Weston-super-Mare last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch.
Despite a concerted effort by Braintree groundsman Andy Green, along with a number of the club’s officials and supporters, the Cressing Road pitch was deemed unplayable, following heavy rain.
Iron are now hoping that their away clash with Havant and Waterlooville will go ahead on Saturday, as they aim to put the pressure on the teams immediately above them in the league table.
Chairman Lee Harding said: “It’s key for us to make sure the games are on. If we have home matches called off, it affects our cash flow.”
