ANISIUS Lewis has left Braintree Town to join National League side Aldershot Town.

The 22-year-old striker, who has scored three times for the Iron in National League South this season, has linked up with the Shots.

Lewis joined Braintree from Isthmian League side Maldon & Tiptree in July.

Lewis told the Aldershot Town website: “I’m very excited about joining Aldershot. It’s the highest level I’ve played to date.

“The opportunity itself is incredible and I’m so thankful to my agent, Luke Guttridge, for helping me get this across the line smoothly and efficiently.

“I also have a huge appreciation to Scott himself for being keen on me whilst I was at my former club which tells me he is really invested in me on a personal level and thinks I can bring something to the club which as a player that’s what you want from the manager.

“First and foremost, I want to give my all on the pitch and help push this club in the direction it is already heading.

“I’ve loved meeting everyone and all in all I’m so excited to get started and show the fans what I can do at this level. Up the Shots!”

Lewis could make his Aldershot debut tomorrow when they host Carlisle United in the National League.

Aldershot boss Scott Davies told the club’s website: “Anisius is someone that we really liked when we played against Braintree in pre-season so for us to secure his signature is a massive positive.

“At 6ft 3in, he brings the physical presence our front line has been missing.

“He’s young and willing to learn and I’m sure the Shots fans will enjoy watching him.”

Lewis scored Braintree's goal in a 2-1 pre-season defeat by Aldershot, but was forced off with a hand injury during the match.
