WITHAM Running Club celebrated a remarkable weekend of performances.

A highlight for the club was Owen Dare's selection for England, finishing third in the MV60 category with a personal best and club record of (1:19:52).

Samuel Hajder and Daniel Griffiths also contributed strong finishes with times of (1:27:12) and (1:35:55), respectively.

At the Sundowner Night Trail Marathon, Gas Arnold led a group of seven, clocking in with a personal best of (4:13:20), followed closely by Jamie Davidson in (4:18:50).

Ian Cuthbert finished in (4:47:35), and Fiona Collins finished as the third lady with a time of (4:48:05).

James Blackshaw finished in (5:01:45), Peter Banks in (5:29:12) and Dean Whittaker in (5:32:08).

Meanwhile, James Montgomery represented the club at the Dartmoor Discovery Ultra Marathon, completing the gruelling 32-mile course in (6:44:12).

In the Rayleigh 10k, Stephen Boxall finished in (43:42), while Sarah Scott and Ross Silverton followed with times of (54:27) and (77:33).

At the parkrun series, 35 club members competed at 18 venues.

At Sizewell Geoff Reddin ran in (30:54), while Daniel Griffiths finished in (23:30) in Swansea.

Giles Sowerby was the fastest male as first in the VM45-49 category at Ferry Meadows in (19:16).

The fastest lady was Vicki Riley in (23:59) at Maldon.

Patrick Hinchliffe ran in (38:34) at Wickford and Joe McEwan, coming back from injury, walked the course at Maldon in (51:06).
