BRAINTREE Town have moved to reassure supporters that their current embargo will not significantly affect plans for next season’s squad build.

The National League South club have confirmed that, while restrictions remain in place, they will still be permitted to register up to 16 players from June 1, in line with league rules.

With preliminary budgeting already geared towards a squad of around 20 to 22 players for the 2026/27 campaign, officials insist the embargo will not materially hinder preparations on the pitch.

In a statement, the Iron said their recruitment model had already accounted for a streamlined squad size, meaning the current limitations are unlikely to disrupt planning in any meaningful way.

The focus remains on ensuring compliance with league requirements, while continuing efforts to strengthen ahead of the new season.

Off the field, Braintree have acknowledged the importance of season ticket income, particularly in the absence of significant broadcast revenue streams.

The Iron has again offered discounted early prices to regular supporters, while also introducing flexibility for those concerned about committing during the embargo period.

Fans can opt to secure their season ticket now and delay 50 per cent of the payment until August 1, with tickets issued once paid in full.

Braintree officials hope the move will encourage continued backing during what they describe as a transitional period.

Efforts to lift the embargo are ongoing, with the relegated National League club working to attract new investment and meet all necessary requirements in the coming weeks.

There is optimism the situation can be resolved before the start of the new campaign.

The early season ticket purchase deadline is this weekend and the club will be open from 2pm-6pm on Saturday and 10-12 on Sunday, together with Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings this week from 7.30-9.30pm.
