BRAINTREE Town boss Steve Pitt felt the result was not a fair reflection of his side's performance after they lost 5-1 at Tamworth in their final National League game.
Lewis Walker's 10th goal of the season proved only a consolation at The Lamb ground, as the Iron's season finished in disappointing fashion.
Pitt told the club's YouTube channel: "It's not a 5-1 game - we had as many chances as they did.
"Unfortunately, they were hungrier and more committed than us to force the ball in the net.

"I thought we were good first half and I'm disappointed with both the first and the second goals, from a defensive point of view.
"But I thought we asked a lot of questions in the first half and also in the last 20 minutes of the second half.
"Sahid [Kamara] has got to score, John [Akinde] got to score - I think if it's them in our box, they score.
"At the end of the day, it's not the note that I'd want to finish on in the National League.
"It's been a really, really tough season.
"We had a different kind of pressure last week with the job that was required of us owing to professionalism and what we needed to do against Rochdale.
A heavy defeat on the final day of the season. We thank each and every Iron fan who has been with us this season home and away, and a safe journey home #IronArmy | Forged in 1898 pic.twitter.com/EqV6HUg8ii

"I wanted to come and finish on a positive note but defensively, the goals are not good enough and ultimately, when you have the amount of chances we had, you've got to score more than one goal.
"I'm not saying we'd have scored five but we certainly had some really, really good opportunities.
"I've just said to the players in there, it's been a really, really tough season that's ebbed and flowed.
"We're a goalscorer away from being a mid-table team and that's the reality of the situation."
Stefan Mols opened the scoring for Tamworth with a smart finish from the edge of the area, after seven minutes.
22 | WALKER ON HIS OWN!!!
Iron break through the Number 9, he has options but he takes it on his own and blasts an effort from 25 yards out right into the bottom corner! Hilariously, due to the supports on the goal, it went in and out so quickly The Iron fans didnt even realise… pic.twitter.com/d3qXB5iJL1— Braintree Town FC (@braintreetownfc) April 25, 2026
Already-relegated Braintree did not give in, though, as Walker equalised with a superb 25-yard strike, 15 minutes later.
However, Tamworth regained their lead shortly afterwards, as Dan Creaney pounced.
Mols grabbed his second just after the restart for his 10th goal of the season, before a 51st-minute own goal from Caleb Ansen and then an 85th-minute Oli Lynch finish eased Tamworth to victory.
