FORMER Colchester United striker Tom Stagg has joined Witham Town.

The 23-year-old striker, who made his professional debut for the U's in the 2020-21 season, has joined the Pitching In Isthmian League division north side.

Stagg, who left Colchester after ten years at the club in the summer of 2022, had most recently played for Bury Town, having been at Bowers and Pitsea earlier this season.

He helped Bury win promotion last season, having achieved the same with Bowers the season before.

Stagg joined the Colchester academy at under-eight level from Kelvedon Hatch and was prolific for the U’s youth teams in the Professional Development League, after beginning his scholarship with the U's in 2019.

Stagg made his only senior appearance for Colchester at the end of the 2020-21 campaign when he came on as a substitute in the club's 0-0 draw at Tranmere Rovers, in League Two.

Since leaving Colchester, the striker has also played for the likes of Concord Rangers, Grays Athletic, Cheshunt, Leatherhead, Maldon and Tiptree, Brentwood Town and Billericay Town.
