MARLEY Marshall Miranda has left Braintree Town and signed for their National League rivals Boreham Wood.

The 23-year-old has signed a permanent deal at Meadow Park, after ending his 18-month stint with the Iron.

Marshall Miranda told the Boreham Wood FC website: “I see the great things they’re doing at the club.

“To come from the league below last season and to be doing so well, to be chasing promotion, every player wants that.

“I’m buzzing to be here; it’s a great place and I’m ready to go.”

Miranda had been at Braintree since the summer of 2024, when he joined them after being released by Colchester.

In a statement on social media, Braintree Town said: ‘The Iron can confirm that an offer has been accepted from Boreham Wood FC for the permanent transfer of midfielder Marley Marshall-Miranda.

‘Marley has been an ever-present figure in our squad since his signing at the start of the 24/25 season, making 62 appearances and contributing 3 G/A is his time in Orange and Blue

‘We wish Marley all the best in his career as he ventures up The National League table.’

Madrid-born Miranda played in the Spanish leagues before moving to England when he was 12 years old.

He joined Colchester when he was 16, following his release by Brighton and Hove Albion, and was given his U's senior debut by Steve Ball in September 2020.

He made his first-ever competitive start for them in their 1-0 win at Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2022 having broken into Wayne Brown's squad, following an impressive pre-season.

In total, Miranda made 29 league and cup appearances for the U's, scoring once.
