COLCHESTER Swimming Club member Laura Stephens has been named in the Great Britain squad for the LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow.

The talented 20-year-old, who is now based at Plymouth Leander, is one of 16 swimmers who will don the Great Britain cap at the event, which takes place in December.

It represents another major event for butterfly swimmer Stephens, who is hoping to clinch a place in the Team GB squad for next year's Tokyo Olympics.

The former Colchester County High School for Girls pupil will be hoping to follow up her impressive performance at her first long course World Championships, earlier this summer.
