BRAINTREE Cricket Club captain Louis Cant is clear about what his team need to do this weekend.

There are just two games of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division two season remaining and the Dolphins stand on the verge of securing a place back in the top flight.

After they beat Mildenhall last weekend, a win against Copford on Saturday could ensure promotion for current leaders Braintree, but with the title in their sights and second-placed East Bergholt still breathing down their necks, Cant is unequivocal about what they need to do.

He said: "We have to win (on Saturday) and win with 20 points.

"If we do, there is a good chance we could win the league this week, if a couple of the other games go in our favour.

"Elmstead are a good side and they could really do us a favour against East Bergholt.

"A win would also guarantee us a promotion spot, so that has to be our goal."

With so much on the line, Cant is pleased to be able to field a strong side for the visit of Copford.

He added: "They are coming to us, but I can safely say it’s the strongest side we’ve had this year, with the exception of Will Jackson being missing."
