TOM Richardson notched twice but his Braintree Town side suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Essex rivals Billericay Town, in National League South tonight.
The former Brightlingsea Regent frontman headed the Iron into an early lead but the visitors quickly responded through Matt Rhead's penalty.
Moses Emmanuel put Billericay ahead before Richardson equalised.
But it was the visitors who had the last laugh thanks to a 70th-minute winner from Charlie Wassmer.
Braintree, who have now lost their opening two matches, have another home game on Saturday, against Wealdstone.
