COLCHESTER United will host League Two rivals Swindon Town in the first round of this season's Carabao Cup.
The U's will entertain the Robins in the opening round of the competition, after the draw was made tonight.
Colchester will travel to play Swindon in the league the following month, on September 17.
John McGreal's side will be hoping to progress further in the competition than they did last season, when they were eliminated on penalties at League Two rivals Cheltenham Town in the first round.
Colchester were one of 70 EFL Clubs to feature in the first-round draw, which saw teams drawn in Northern and Southern sections, as in 2018.
Drawing the balls from the hat were footballing legend, John Barnes and Arsenal fan favourite, Ray Parlour.
They selected the 35 fixtures for round one, which included EFL clubs from Carlisle United all the way down to Plymouth Argyle and featured EFL Cup debutants Salford City.
Matches are scheduled to take place week commencing 12 August.
