KARL Andrade hit a last-gasp winner as FC CLACTON secured a thrilling 2-1 victory at Great Yarmouth Town.

The striker pounced deep in stoppage time to complete a third straight win for Tom Austin's side.

Adam Hampson had earlier given them the lead in Tuesday's Thurlow Nunn League contest at Wellesley Road.

Yarmouth then levelled in the second half but Andrade notched five minutes into injury time to spark scenes of celebration in the Seasiders' camp.

Tuesday's victory came hot on the heels of wins against top-ten sides Kirkley and Pakefield and Godmanchester Rovers.

And it lifted them up to ninth in the premier division table, with games in hand on nearly all the sides above.

Clacton hit the woodwork twice and had two other goals disallowed.

Yarmouth also had a goal ruled out.

Austin's men travel to Woodbridge Town on Saturday before hosting Haverhill Rovers next Tuesday.

Elsewhere, BRANTHAM ATHLETIC conceded a stoppage-time winner as they lost 1-0 at premier division leaders Histon.

In first division south, BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES ran out 2-1 winners at promotion contenders COGGESHALL UNITED.

Third-placed HALSTEAD TOWN and HARWICH AND PARKESTON, in fourth, will have been keeping close tabs on that result and also the one between Burnham Ramblers and second-placed White Ensign, which finished 2-2.

Bostik League division north high-fliers MALDON AND TIPTREE proved too strong for LITTLE OAKLEY in the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup.

The sides met in a semi-final clash at the Memorial Ground and it was the Jammers who progressed after a 3-0 victory.
