While Braintree Town have bade farewell to Reading loanee goalkeeper George Legg this week, the Iron have had at least one squad boost ahead of their Vanarama National League game against Boreham Wood at Cressing Road on Saturday.

Legg has headed back to his parent club after a month-long loan with the Essex club, when the 22-year-old made five appearances in the league.

Manager Hakan Hayrettin said he wasn't expecting to bring in another keeper on loan as he had Ashlee Jones available and has also been handed a boost with the news that England C keeper Ben Killip has recovered from an ankle injury.

Killip has not played for Braintree since the 2-2 draw at Salford City on October 13, but Hayrettin said he was back and may be fit to face Boreham Wood on Saturday.

The pre-Christmas game kicks off at 3pm at Cressing Road and Hayrettin added that there may be other changes to his squad ahead of the game.

He has been working hard this week to ensure there could a couple of new additions, which - if he manages to complete deals - could potentially see a couple of familiar faces returning to the club.

Meanwhile, Norman Wabo has joined Legg in completing a loan spell with Braintree.

The 20-year-old has headed back to parent club Southend United after making four substitute appearances for the Iron over the last month.
