Caretaker manager Hakan Hayrettin has admitted that he is reviewing Braintree Town’s goalkeeping options as he waits on the fitness of Ben Killip.
Killip, who made his England C debut last month in their 1-0 win against Estonia Under-23s at Leyton Orient, is sidelined for the Iron at the moment by an ankle injury.
He was on crutches at the Iron’s 4-2 win at Bromley on Tuesday, where Ashlee Jones was between Braintree’s sticks for the second game running.
He may start again when they head to Aldershot Town in Vanarama National League action on Saturday, but Hayrettin said he will talk with Iron chairman Lee Harding about the possibility of strengthening the squad if Killip is set for a lengthy spell out.
Hayrettin said: “I don’t know how long Ben’s going to be out, so it’s something I will have to speak to the chairman about and we’ll go from there.”
