It is looking likely that Ashlee Jones will retain his place between the sticks tonight as Braintree Town go for back-to-back Vanarama National League wins for the first time this season.

Goalkeeper Ben Killip is still recovering from an ankle injury and could miss the Iron's trip to Bromley tonight.

Jones was in goal for Braintree's 2-1 win against Dover Athletic last weekend and is likely to be in line for a second league start for the Iron, however, defender Dave Nieskens is set to miss out again as he continues his recovery from a concussive head injury suffered in training last week.

Billy Crook is also still out with a knee injury and Braintree chairman Lee Harding said the midfielder was taking longer to come back than had been anticipated.

Harding said: "The two weeks that we hhad been forecast for Billy's injury is now five and it is a bit concerning how long it is taking him to recover."

Meanwhile, Harding confirmed that striker Elliott Charles had left the club to join National League South side Wealdstone and the chairman added that it was looking likely that midfielder Danny Rowe may also depart.

Coming into the club in the last week, though, has been striker Virgil Gomis, who has joined the Iron on a 28-day loan from Championship side Nottingham Forest and the chairman said there was a possibility that that period could be extended further.

He said: "We're pleased to have got the lad in from Nottingham Forest and he's someone who Hakan has been interested in for a while.

"It's early days for him with us, but I think he shows a lot of promise.

"He certainly has a quick turn of pace and we've got him on a 28-day initial loan so that's until the Harrogate game and there then may be a chance to extend beyond that if it suits everyone."
