It seems as though there are have been some changes to Braintree Town's squad ahead of Saturday's home game against Eastleigh in Vanarama National League.

Players' social media accounts have indicated that one exit and one new addition have taken place.

The player apparently making a departure is central defender Dave Nieskens, who posted on his own Twitter account this morning that he had "regrettably" left the club.

The 24-year-old Dutch centre-half made seven appearances for the Iron after joining following a period of rehabilitation after knee surgery last year.

On his Twitter account, he said: "Regrettably my time at Braintree has come to an end.

"I want to thank the players the staff and of course the fans that have (been) supporting us every game.

"Best of luck for the rest of the season."

However, there also appears to have been an addition to manager Brad Quinton's squad.

Quinton said earlier in the week that he was expecting to add a new striker and the Iron boss posted a message on the Twitter account of Bishop's Stortford forward Jake Cass suggesting that he was his man.

"Welcome aboard fella," was Tweeted by Quinton on Thurday evening.

If his registration is completed, Cass, who has scored six goals in eight appearances for Bostik League premier division side Bishop's Stortford this season after joining them following a prolific spell at Chalfont St Peter in the Evo-Stick League south-east division, could be in line for a place in the Iron's side against Eastleigh on Saturday.

Neither of the squad changes have been confirmed yet by the club.
