AFTER being in the doldrums for two seasons, Tolleshunt Knights Eagles have notched a phenomenal 52 goals already this term - plundered in just seven Braintree and North Essex Sunday League matches.
Their goal-fest has put them firmly in top spot in division two, unbeaten in the league and five points ahead of the second-placed team.
The Eagles have capitalised on their strong performances, with scores including 10-1 and 14-0.
They have conceded only 11 goals so have a goal difference of +41, with the next best goal difference being +6.
Secretary Keith Berriman confirmed that every player has produced exceptional performances this season.
However, the outstanding player so far has been captain Andy Cheek, who has scored more than half the team’s goals, with a phenomenal tally of 27.
The team are looking to maintain this form for the rest of the season, in the hope they can be promoted to the first division.
