Braintree Town manager Bradley Quinton has strengthened his defensive options with the signing of centre-half Joe Ellul.
The 28-year-old former East Thurrock player, who was also part of Quinton’ squad at Enfield Town, has joined after departing Bostik League premier division side Billericay Town last week.
Ellul made nine starts for Billericay this season, scoring three goals including a two-goal salvo in their 3-1 FA Trophy win against Tooting & Mitcham United, which was his final game for the club.
However, he has been used mainly as a substitute this season and his departure came after the recent signing of Dean Inman for a club record fee.
