LOCAL riders struggled with the conditions all day as they the Braintree and District Motor Cycle Club trials were held at Sible Hedingham but Heybridge resident and Braintree member Kevin Palmer managed to salvage sixth in the Intermediate class.
Riders from across East Anglia and as far afield as Aberystwyth in Wales tackled the 11 sections lapped four times around the steep banks and hills of the woodland venue.
All eyes were on the Experts as they tackled some fearsome looking climbs and obstacles.
Byron Jenness from Wymondham in Norfolk has been the runner-up at the event for the last couple of years and he finally got the upper hand on Stowmarket’s Julian Harvey to take a well-deserved win.
