THERE was double delight for Braintree and Bocking Angling Society's Penny Turner with twin competition successes.

Fixture clashes reduced the Braintree club's entry for the Len Norris Pairs match at Layer Marney to just two pairs, so the decision was made to call it off and hope for a slightly better entry if it was replaced with a Sweep at Notley.

It did at least raise the entry to seven and most had a double figure catch.

Turner drew peg six and landed F1s at intervals during the match, along with one carp and a final fish on the whistle that gave her a winning total of 16-3-0.

John Daniels continued his recent good win, netting F1s and one good carp for 14-14-0 and second.

Friday's Sweep on the lake, again saw Turner into F1s at the start of the match, landing seven in total and a repeat performance with a carp on the final whistle saw her take her second win of the week with a 20-13-0 total.

Having finished in third spot in the last four Notley matches Pete Thompson finally moved up to second with three carp in the last hour boosting him to a total weight of 16-2-0.
