Essex Invitation Petanque League eaders Onley Arms edged a little closer to the title with a 2-1 win over Bocking 1.
Lorne Gibson, Daniel Blows and Trevor Blows led all the way for the Stisted side in the triplesin a 13-7 win, before Daniel Blows and Gibson took on David Adams and Malcolm Smith in the pairs.
Onley took a 6-0 lead, but Bocking clawed back the points and an excellent six put them in front.
They held the lead 11-10 and unfortunately for Daniel Blows, he pushed a home boule in for two and the game 13-10.
Trevor Blows gained revenge for an early season defeat by Trevor Turner in the singles, winning 13-1 in just 15 minutes to wrap up the win for Onley and they now need just three more points to take the title.
