Witham Cricket Club captain Leroy Facey is confident that his players are all pulling in the right direction to ease them away from relagation danger.
A three-wicket win at Haverhill was just what Witham needed in their bid to remain in the top flight of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship this year and they host Mildenhall tomorrow feeling buoyant that they can continue to pick up strong results.
Facey said: “The win at Haverhill was a very important one for us.
“Mainly because of the confidence it gives us as we have lost a few recently when we’ve been on the wrong end of close results.
“To be honest, we didn’t play that well.
“We didn’t perform to the standard we’d expect, but regardless of how you have played, the result is the important thing at a time like this.
“It means our position is still in our hands at the moment.
“We are still out of the bottom two and if we do the business and get results, we will stay in control of our own destiny."
