Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire has said he does expect “a couple” of his out-of-contract players not to re-sign for the Iron this summer.
While Devonshire didn’t want to say who the players were at the moment he said he thought that there would be one or two departures of players who featured in last year’s record-breaking season in the Conference Premier, when Braintree finished in a highest-ever sixth position.
The Times reported two weeks ago that Sam Habergham had signed a new contract at the Amlin Stadium, but others who are still to sign fresh deals include Ryan Peters, Dan Sparkes, Dan Holman and Nathan McDonald.
Devonshire said: “There’s nothing to report at the moment, but I do expect to lose a couple who have not signed."
Braintree's squad are due to return for pre-season training on June 28.
