Witham Town assistant manager Brad King wants the core of their promotion-winning squad to lead their challenge in the Ryman League premier division next season.
Wholesale changes to the Town squad aren’t on the agenda for manager Garry Kimble and his management team, but King admits they will have to make some new additions.
He knows how big a task it will be to stay up after winning promotion from division one north.
With that in mind, former Colchester United striker Jamie Guy became the first of the new signings and has now been joined by Aveley winger Paul Burnett.
But King expects key players from last year to form the mainstay of their team.
He said: “I think we will take a lot up with us because we believe in our boys and it’s good to keep the nucleus of the squad together.
“We will have to add in some experience like we have with Jamie Guy, but we would like the majority of the squad to come from last year’s one."
