A BROKEN down car is causing miles of queues on the busy A127 this morning.
The vehicle, stuck in the outside lane of the London bound carriageway, is causing stationary traffic between the Dunton junction and the A128 junction.
Police have closed part of the outside lane.
Traffic is stationary all the way back to the Basildon turn off.
Drivers have been told to avoid the area with delays now exceeding 40 minutes.

A spokesman from AA says: "Severe delays of 42 minutes and delays increasing on A127 Southend Arterial Road westbound.
"The road is partially blocked, long delays and queueing traffic due to stalled vehicle on A127."
