A BOY who died after going missing in a lake has been named locally.
Close friends have launched a fundraising page for the costs of the boy's funeral following the tragic death of a boy in Alexandra Lake, Thurrock, who went missing overnight on Friday.
Sadly, Essex Police found a body in the lake at 12.40pm on Saturday.
The fundraising page has named the boy as 15-year-old Asyer Daley.
The discovery of the body followed a huge operation by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police overnight on Friday at around 9pm.
The lake had an Aqua Park obstacle course installed on it.
The fundraiser for Asyer, which states he lived in Tilbury, has already raised £1,300.
The page was set up by Joey Mason, a family friend of Asyer's.
Mr Mason said he had been inundated with people asking how they could help Asyer's family and decided to launch the page.
He said Asyer and his family "made many friends" in Tilbury.
He added: "It would be amazing if we could show his family what Tilbury is capable of when we pull together.
