A DAYTRIPPER heading to Southend on a c2c train was stopped by police and promptly arrested for non-payment of £5,600 in fines.
British Transport Police was patrolling with Southend police on the rail line between London Fenchurch Street to Southend.
However, he didn't get the day out he wanted.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Instead of spending the day on Southend beach, hes spending the day in Southend cells.
"Arrested for non payment of £5600 in fines he'll go before the court."
