DRIVERS are queueing for 30 minutes to get rid of their lockdown rubbish at Stock Road tip, in Southend

Southend Council has issued a Bank Holiday warning as the queues continue to develop this afternoon.

Bosses have urged anyone who is thinking of using Bank Holiday Monday to dispose of their rubbish to instead consider going to the Leigh Marshes recycling centre.

Household Waste Recycling Centres re-open to the public last Monday, May 18, but only for essential visits and with strict social distancing measures in place to ensure visitor and staff safety.

People were urged to only visit sites if they are unable to safely store waste at home, or are unable to dispose of the waste through alternative options including online bulky waste collections, garden waste services or your normal weekly collection.
