A MAN was knocked out after a fight with six other men.

Essex Police have launched an appeal for information following the incident in Rayleigh on Sunday night.

The ambulance service was called to the scene in Grove Road.

The male victim, aged in his 30s, had been knocked out and required police and ambulance assistance.

A spokesman for the police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being assaulted by a group of people in Rayleigh on Sunday May 17.

"We were called by the ambulance service at around 10pm.

"This was after a man was knocked unconscious after getting into an altercation with up to six men.

"We received information that the suspects confronted the man before chasing him and attacking him in Grove Road.

"The victim, who is aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks."

Luckily the victim escaped the altercation with no serious or lasting injuries.

However, the police are still keen to trace those who attacked the man and bring them to justice.

The spokesman added: "We would like to speak to anyone who has information and footage – CCTV, dash cam and mobile."
