A popular town's museum has decided to close its door, due to the spread of the Coronavirus.
Museum leaders have sent out a statement for visitors, volunteers and groups.
The team is expecting a Dutch Cottage model to arrive soon.
A spokesman said: "In view of the latest developments with the Coronavirus pandemic the Museum Trustees have decided to close the Rayleigh Town Museum with immediate effect.
"We have taken this decision to protect, as much as we can, both our Volunteers and members of the general public. The Museum is in a strong place to deal with the ramifications of this closure and our Social Media outlets will remain open to deal with any questions or enquires.
"Further updates will be given on regular basis. Please feel free to phone our Chairman Mr. Mike Davies on..01268785657.. for any further information.”
