A BOY was left with head injuries after he was struck by a car.
The boy was rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car on Whitmore Way, Basildon yesterday afternoon.
An investigation has been launched by police into the crash.
A spokesman from the force, said: "We were called shortly after 4.05pm on Monday 2 March with reports of a collision involving a boy and a car in Whitmore Way, Basildon.
"He was taken to hospital with a head injury.
"Enquiries remain ongoing.
"Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 750 of yesterday's date."
A spokesman from the ambulance service, said: "An ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to Whitmore Way, Basildon shortly after 4pm yesterday, following a crash.
"A boy was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and care."
