WESTERN Esplanade has been closed this afternoon.
High tides and flooding, caused by Storm Ciara, have resulted in the closure.
The closure is in place from the Kursaal, with a diversion in place on Pier Hill.
Southend Council's highways team tweeted: "Western Esplanade has been closed due to flooding and high tide, the closure will commence at the Kursaal and diversion up Pier Hill.
"Closure at the Leas allowing access to Grosvenor Road."
