THE festive feel is gearing up across south Essex. Here are five top Christmas events coming up this month..

1 Christmas Craft and Gift Fayre, The Freight House, Rochford, this Sunday (November 10).

A large number of talented exhibitors will be packing out the historic house and showing an excellent variety of unique craft and gift items. Event is open from 10am to 3pm, admission free of charge. Refreshments available and free car parking.

2 Lincewood School Christmas Shopping Evening, Berry Lane, Thursday November 14, from 7pm.

Head along and support the school by indulging in some Christmas shopping. It’s a great opportunity to find some special gifts for your family and friends plus the chance to peruse food stalls and gift stalls selling everything from home-made jams and chutneys to diamanté keyrings, crystal jewellery and Disney themed items.

3 Havens Hospices Christmas Fayre, Saxon Hall, Aviation Way, Southend , November 15, 1.30pm-8pm.

Kickstart the festive season with friends and families at the Haven’s fundraising Christmas Market where there will be gifts, clothing, chocolates and much more to buy. With an early visit from Father Christmas , wreathe demonstrations, arts and craft table, there will be something for everyone. Entry is via a donation at the door.

4 Christmas Craft Fair Weekend, Cliffs Pavilion, Station Road, Southend, Saturday and Sunday November 16-17, 10am-3pm both days.

This event is being organised to support and exhibit all locally handmade crafts and businesses - plus creating the perfect outlet to buy your Christmas presents. More than 40 stalls will pack out the Admiral’s and Maritime Rooms at the theatre. Entry is free. www.louisesevents.co.uk

5 Basildon at 70, community Christmas showcase, Saturday November 16.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Basildon New Town, a huge festive funday will be taking place in and around Basildon town centre. Everything from Santa’s grotto, food stalls, an ice rink, carol singing, craft displays and more will take place- all culminating with a spectacular festive firework display in St Martin’s Square at 6pm.
