TRIBUTES have been paid to a grandfather who died following a crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian at an industrial site.
Essex Police were called to the site, near Cranes Close, Basildon, at around 1pm on Friday, October 4.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services pedestrian David Potter, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following his death, Mr Potter's family have paid an emotional tribute to him via Essex Police.
They said: "David was loved by everyone he met. He had a big, loving heart and always put a smile on your face.
"He was the kind of person who would always put others first.
"The most warm and loving person you would ever meet, who lived life to the fullest with the people who meant most to him.
"The best dad, husband, brother, stepdad and grandad who loved his family more than anything."
A 55-year-old man from Kent was arrested in connection with the incident.
He has since been released under investigation.
