Essex Police are now in a position to release the identity of a woman who died in Hullbridge over the weekend.
Police were called to an address in Padgetts Way at around 1.50pm on Sunday September 1.
A woman, 76 year-old Janet Lewis had, sadly, been found dead inside.
A post-mortem examination has found she had sustained stab wounds to her neck.
An 80 year-old man was also found inside the property with serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.
He has been arrested on suspicion of murder and detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with Janet’s death.
