A DISPERSAL order has been put in place today following a tip off about a planned beach party in Chalkwell.
The order has been put in place in Chalkwell/Westcliff because of concerns about anti-social behaviour.
There was also a gathering on the beach recently where a large group of people were reported to be acting in an anti-social manner.
Inspector Ian Hughes said: “The dispersal order will not affect the popular Village Green event, which is being held in Chalkwell Park today.
“Our aim is to minimise the impact that any anti-social behaviour could have on this fun, family-friendly event.”
The dispersal order covers the area in the map but not Chalkwell Park, where there is dedicated security in place for the Village Green event.
The order will run until 2am tomorrow, Sunday July 14.
It gives officers the power to order those causing anti-social behaviour to leave the area.
Breaching any direction given under the order is a criminal offence.
The order covers the area between Crowstone Road, London Road, Fernleigh Drive, Woodfield Road and Chalkwell Esplanade.
