TWO people have been charged with various offences after being arrested on Tuesday, June 18.
Ben Atthis, 32, of Lundy Close, Southend, has been remanded to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today charged with burglary, common assault, using threatening behaviour and two counts of theft.
It follows reports of a burglary in Benfleet on April 2, where a shop worker was threatened in Leigh on May 16, a report of a handbag theft from Hadleigh and Thundersley Cricket Club on June 1 and a reported theft from Morrisons in Hadleigh on May 18.
Tracy Rehbein, 43, of Church Parade, Canvey, was charged with four counts of theft and assault by beating and she is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, July 18.
It follows reports of four shoplifting offences in Canvey between April 27 and June 8.
Police also received information that a shop worker was pushed.
They were both arrested yesterday by officers from Operation Falcon, a team of five officers who help tackle crime in Castle Point and Rochford.
