A CHELMSFORD man will tackle a ride across Britain – 14 years after an awful accident in a triathlon.
James Caviel was fortunate to only suffer cuts and bruises in a near fatal accident during a triathlon in Sardinia – or so he thought.
Now James will be channelling all his positive energy into training for the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, the 980-mile cycle route covering the UK from top to toe.
He will be raising money for a charity he holds close to his heart.
He said: “I am cycling for Alzheimer’s UK, my 88-year-old father has been suffering with this awful condition for nearly nine years now and so this is a very personal challenge for me. I have set a target on the entry form of £3,000 but I am hoping to raise at least twice that.”
