A fun park worker was mugged by an armed thug in broad day light.

The worker from Adventure Island, Southend seafront was approached by a man who asked if they had drugs or knew about getting them.

The victim was then threatened with a knife and they demanded he hand over his bank card and phone.

The crook then stole £300 from the victims bank account.

This is the second similar incident in a week.

Philip Miller, owner of Stockvale, the firm behind Adventure Island took to Twitter after the incident.

He tweeted: "This is what happened to one of my team yesterday

"Southend is becoming almost out of control

"I don’t blame the police they are brilliant

"It just leaves The politicos to take the wrap

"Perhaps it would be better if the police commissioner was not tied to any political party I ask?"

Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
