THE first snow flakes of the year have started to fall in Essex.
The wintery weather has been spotted in Basildon and other parts of the county.
It comes after the Met Office issued an official yellow weather warning for most of the United Kingdom.
The warning was issues yesterday and expected to last until 11am today.
