A KILLER who stabbed a boy to death just for looking at him has escaped from prison – and could be in Southend.

Ahmet Gomulu was jailed for life in 2008 after stabbing 16-year-old Nassirudeen Osawe through the heart in broad daylight at a bus stop in London.

Gomulu, now 30, has absconded from HM Prison Springhill, in Buckinghamshire, and police are urgently trying to track him down.

He was last seen at Springhill at about midnight on Sunday but he has links to Southend.

In 2007, Gomulu laughed as he knifed Nass for looking at him. As Nass waited for a bus with a friend in north London, Gomulu confronted him and said: “Why are you looking at me, why you screwing me?”

Nass, described by his mum, Fulera Idriss, as “every mother’s dream of a son”, was stabbed once in the leg and once in the heart and collapsed and died in the street on December 27.

Gomulu, who also stabbed Nass’ 17 year-old friend, was jailed for life but told he would serve at least 12 years behind bars for the murder.

Gomulu is described as having a southern European appearance, approximately 5ft 10ins tall with short black hair and dark stubble/goatee beard.

He is around 10 stone and of medium build. He speaks with an English accent.

Gomulu is known to frequent the Stoke Newington area of London as well as Southend.

He is believed to have absconded wearing black Nike trainers, blue Nike tracksuit bottoms and a blue Nike sweatshirt.

Thames Valley Police has urged the public not to approach him but to ring 999 if seen.

PC Arron Wroe, of the Investigation Hub based at Aylesbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who knows of Gomulu’s whereabouts, or who believes that they have seen him to call 101. You should quote the reference number 43180360525. If you see Gomulu, do not approach him, but call 999 immediately.”
