Officers from Essex Police has been working to reassure residents after a spate of burglaries at a residential park home site.
It is thought that up to five homes were targeted at the Halcyon Residential Park, in Pooles Lane, Hullbridge, while the elderly residents were visiting family around Christmas time.
Jewellery was taken from most of the properties which were broken into, including a £400 ring, a gold engagement ring and earrings which had sentimental value.
Sgt Mark McQuade, of Castle Point Neighbourhood Policing Team, said officers from his team had been at the site to reassure residents after the break-ins.
He said: “We had a word with the landowners about putting in CCTV, having better lighting and gating and getting better security.
“People were really pleased to see us and we had great feedback.”
