Negotiations on the future of Great Leighs racecourse are underway, according to an insider.
The source claims “there is definitely hope the racecourse could re-open” and meetings to decide the site’s future will be taking place over the next few weeks.
The most recent person to publicly express an interest in rescuing the racecourse was Eddie Stobart’s chief executive Andrew Tinkler.
However, if the racecourse was to re-open, the earliest it could do so would be 2013 according to the British Horse Racing Authority (BHA).
