An injured kitten was found strapped up with toilet paper and tape.
The young cat had a large infected wound on his back, sticky tape wrapped around his neck and tape and toilet paper around his torso.
He was found in Wickham Crescent, Braintree, on July 9 and taken to Millennium Way vets in Braintree.
RSPCA inspector Caroline Richardson-Braun said: "This poor kitten was just left to his devices with his injuries.
“This is a criminal offence and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information on this kitten."
The cat, now named Sonny, was adopted by one of the veterinary nurses and is settling well into his new home.
